FREUNDSCHAFTSKREIS
CRANLEIGH-VALLENDAR
FRIENDSHIP CLUB
The Cranleigh-Vallendar Friendship Club was first formed in 1981 to promote personal friendships and understanding between the village of Cranleigh and Vallendar, a Rhineland town near Koblenz in Germany. A Charter was agreed in 1985 to set a formal basis for the relationship.
In alternate years, the Club visits or entertains its counterpart in Germany, giving opportunities to make new friends while seeing something of the way of life in the other country. As friendships develop, other, private visits often take place.
Membership
The Cranleigh-Vallendar Friendship Club is a private body, not sponsored by any other organisation and entirely self-supporting.
The current annual subscription is £10 per person (free up to the age of 18).
New members are always welcome. If you are interested in joining us, please ask for a New Member welcome pack from the Secretary, Jeremy Watts (tel. 01483 276577) at 10 Broad Walk, Cranleigh GU6 7LS.
Events are arranged throughout the year for social and fund-raising purposes. They include excursions, games evenings, theatre visits, and so on, at roughly one-monthly intervals.
Hon. President: Mrs. Pam Thomas
